Learn about Grasshopr!

Dear Members,

The Brain Injury Association of American and the Brain Injury Association of Arkansas have embarked on a new way of managing our grassroots advocacy.  As many of you know, social media has defined the new era of communication.  The BIAA and BIA-AR are taking our grassroots advocacy online with a new program called Grasshopr.  Because Federal and State grassroots memberships overlap, we encourage you to join our community on Grasshopr

Grasshopr is a web site that empowers organizations and individuals with the tools to engage with their elected officials and have an impact on public policy at all levels of government.  With Grasshopr, BIAA and BIA-AR can facilitate that process for our members and supporters in the area Federal and State level advocacy.

Grasshopr is free for all Brain Injury Association Members, and we encourage you to sign up and become active on both the federal and state level.

Some key Grasshopr features include:

  • District matching for every member at the federal, state and local level

  • Group-wide and targeted advocacy action alerts that reach members and give them a simple way to communicate to their elected officials on important issues

  • Group-wide and targeted messages, polls, and event advisories

  • Forums to enable advocates to become more engaged, communicate, and collaborate with staff and other advocates

  • The ability for the organization and its members to spread advocacy campaigns to their networks on other social sites like Facebook and Twitter, therefore expanding our reach.

Grasshopr is enabling BIAA and BIA-AR to take grassroots advocacy beyond blast emails to building engaged advocacy communities online.  We are very excited to begin using this new tool that we believe will unify us further and increase our effectiveness on Capitol Hill and State legislatures.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions!
