Nick Bacon Remembrance Act Signed

Governor Mike Beebe signed House Bill 1014 (Act 12) "The Nick Bacon Remembrance Act" at the State Capitol Tuesday, February 15, 2011. The Bill, introduced by State Representative John Edwards through the efforts of Veterans' Commissioner Tom Thomas, will add the word "veteran" to driver's licenses and state issued ID cards with proof of service established by a DD214. The Act was so named in honor of Medal of Honor Recipient Nicky Bacon, former Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs Director, who passed away in 2010. See Photo of Signing.
